I am a typography junky, self-proclaimed vector-guru and lover of almost all things design. I have a background in print design as a Prepress Artist but my future is in Web Design. I am self-taught in HTML and CSS code and am currently interested in becoming an ActionScript developer.
Born and raised in the state of Florida, I always knew that I was going to be an artist but in what form, I did not know. Ever since I was little and could hold a crayon, marker, or swirl a stick around in the dirt, it all just seemed to come naturally to me. My parents allowed me to draw on my closet walls to my heart's content. I dominated the coloring contests at the local drugstore for 3 years in a row. Then, my parents were asked not to have me enter the next year so I could give someone else a chance. As the end of high school drew near, I decided that I was going to go to college for a degree in Graphic Design. I achieved my degree in honors from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, and then I began to carve out the path that I was born to do.
After graduating from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, I stayed in south Florida where I became a Prepress Associate at Viacom Outdoor (now CBS Outdoor). Shortly after, I started working at the Bluegreen Creative Group as a temporary worker. I was hired on full-time shortly after and quickly climbed to fill the position of Production Artist. During this time, I started exploring the wonderful world of web design and the proper methods of developing web sites. Approximately one year later, I joined the Bluegreen Creative Group web team.
Why the nickname of 'Sasquatch?'
At 6'4" (average build), I am quite a bit taller than most people I meet in my travels. Even among my friends, I am a good half-foot taller. Thus, the nickname 'Sasquatch'.
